Egypt Flag Meaning
The Egyptian flag basically consists of three ground colours. These colours are red, white and black from top to bottom. The red colour on the flag represents the blood of soldiers and civilians who lost their lives on the road to independence. Egypt lived as a colony under British rule for many years after the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire. In order to get rid of this situation, bloody struggles were carried out. The black colour on the Egyptian flag refers to the massacres and tortures suffered by the Egyptian people in this process. Especially civilians were subjected to ill-treatment by the British. White, the last colour on the Egyptian flag, points to the purity and peace of the people of the country. Despite having peace on its flag, Egypt has still not been able to achieve peace and prosperity. There is also an eagle figure on the Egyptian flag. This eagle is golden yellow in colour, with a large body and a head pointing to the left. The flag is taken from one of the flags used by Saladin Ayyubi and is also used as the official coat of arms of the state. This symbol indicates the power of the country.
Egypt Flag Dimensions
Flags of all countries in the world have different sizes. The main reason why countries determine special dimensions for flags is to prevent the emergence of differences in flags. Therefore, when designing flags, design is made within the framework of large geometric calculations. Efforts are made to place the shapes and symbols on the flag in a balanced manner. This is also the case for the Egyptian flag. In order to prevent the emergence of flags with different appearances, the size of the country’s flag was also determined when designing. The ratio used for this flag is 2:3. Regardless of the size of the flag to be produced, this ratio must be followed. In addition, there are some articles in the Egyptian constitution regarding the size of the eagle on the Egyptian flag. If all these articles are not taken into consideration, it is possible to face a problem such as the production of faulty flags.
