History of the Indonesian Flag

The flag of Indonesia is the official symbol of the Republic of Indonesia. The flag originates from the flag of the Majapahit Empire, which was established in the 13th century. The flag was first publicly unveiled and hoisted on August 17, 1945 during the Indonesian Independence Day celebrations.

Indonesia Flag Meaning

Two primary colors are used on the Indonesian flag. These colors are red and white and Indonesia divides the flags into two equal parts.
