History of the Indonesian Flag

The flag of Indonesia is the official symbol of the Republic of Indonesia. The flag originates from the flag of the Majapahit Empire, which was established in the 13th century. The flag was first publicly unveiled and hoisted on August 17, 1945 during the Indonesian Independence Day celebrations.

Indonesia Flag Meaning

Two primary colors are used on the Indonesian flag. These colors are red and white and Indonesia divides the flags into two equal parts. The divided parts are in the form of a bed and the lower part consists of white color and the red color is found in the upper stripe. The white color on Indonesian flags represents the spirit, while the red color symbolizes the human body and blood. These colors on Indonesian flags represent the human body with their meaning.

Indonesian flags and all other flags are never altered in size or color. The symbols on the flags and the dimensions of the colors to each other cannot be changed in any way. Otherwise, this process is considered as the process of changing the flag of the country and if this process is applied to flags with immunity, certain penalties are imposed.

Indonesia Flag Uses

The Indonesian flag is used on special occasions in the country for its visuality and national pride. The flags are hung in the sky in certain parts of the countries and these flags remain hanging in that sky under all circumstances. This action in every country is to symbolize that the country is independent and free. Flags may be used on special occasions in order to hang them out of the windows or walls of institutions and organizations. It can be placed in a frame for use in certain institutions such as schools and classrooms. Again, the Indonesian flag can be preferred for certain decorations on national days.
