Therefore, the official flag of Malawi was used officially for the first time in its history in 1964. Malawi remained under British colonialism until that date. Since this date, it has raised its flag.

Malawi Flag Meaning

The official flag of Malawi consists of a total of 4 different shades of colour, horizontally and evenly. The top part of the flag consists of a direct black colour tone. This colour tone symbolises the Malawian people. Because it is known that local peoples living in the African continent have a black colour tone. The red colour tone, which forms the middle part of the flag, symbolises the red blood of the soldiers and people who lost their lives during the struggle for full independence in the history of the country. This colour tone also symbolises freedom. The green colour tone, which forms the lowest part of the flag, directly expresses the wealth of the country.
